The snorkel was custom done by me. I used 2 inch I.D.(inside diameter) flexible tubing. The hardest thing
with this snorkel is finding the tubing. I could never get a straight answer as to what this stuff is intended for.
found some at a specialty hardware store. Basically after removing the stock snorkel, stick the new tube into the
hole the stock one came out of and tighten up the stock clamp. Then I put a 90 degree PVC bend on the top to
keep rain water out. I used Plumbers Goop to attach the PVC fitting to the flex tube. You have to hold it for a
minute to let the glue set or else the PVC fitting will pop off when you turn your back. I peronsally wanted
my snorkel to be black so I wrapped it with black duct tape.
You will need something to hold the snorkel up. I went to Radio Shack and bought a CB antenna mount. Just use
the mount and throw away the part that holds the antenna. Then I went to Home Depot and bought some 7/16th all
thread. I got 2 big nuts and 2 lock washers. Then attach that to the CB mount and cut it to the length you want.
I then attached it to the rack. Then I used more black duct tape to attach the snorkel.
The breather tubes are next. There are eight of them. Five are routed to two frame bars under the pod from
the factory they. The two carb vents are just folded over and the coolant overflow is by the seat. I took the
common ones and used a T joint and spliced them together. I spliced the front and rear breaks into one line,
the front and rear diff into one line, and the carbs into one line. Then I ran all the lines up the side of
the snorkel.
You will have to rejet your quad. This snorkel flows a ton of air and will make you lean.
